New Feature: Select Multiple Accounts for Your Cash Flow Projection

David Childs

Up until now, the dashboard only let you look at your cash flow projection one account at a time. If you wanted to see how your checking and savings behaved together, or get a combined view across every credit card you carry, there was no way to do it — you had to check each account separately and do the math yourself. That's changed.

Why This Matters

Most people don't think about their money in terms of a single account. You might pay rent from checking but keep a buffer in savings you'd tap in a pinch. You might have two credit cards you treat as one shared pool of available credit. A projection that only ever shows one account at a time misses that reality.

With multi-account selection, you can build the view that actually matches how you manage your money:

  • Combine your everyday accounts to see total available cash, not just one account's slice of it
  • Group all your debt accounts together to see the full picture of what's coming due
  • Mix and match any combination — there's no limit to how many accounts you select at once

How It Works

In the sidebar, each account now has a checkbox instead of a single highlight. Click any account to add it to your selection, click it again to remove it — your projection, net worth, and recurring items update instantly to reflect exactly the accounts you've chosen.

A couple of small conveniences came along with the bigger change:

  • Select all / Clear — two one-click controls above your account list, for when you want everything in view or want to start over
  • Your selection is remembered — pick your usual set of accounts once, and it'll still be selected the next time you open the dashboard, even after closing your browser

The header adapts too: select one account and you'll see its name front and center, just like before. Select several, and you'll see how many accounts are currently combined into your projection.

What You'll See

Everything downstream of your selection — the cash flow chart, your combined balance, recurring transaction cards, and the new category and budget widgets — reflects exactly the accounts you've picked. Select your checking and savings together and the chart shows their combined trajectory. Add a credit card to the mix and its recurring payments show up right alongside your income and other expenses.

Getting Started

There's nothing to set up. Open your dashboard, click into the account checkboxes in the sidebar, and start building the combined view that makes sense for you. Your choice will be there waiting for you next time.
